It was a fitting end to the season at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, with our last runner NICOCHET ending things on a high earning his fourth win in the Star Turn @ Vinery Handicap under the guidance of Tommy Berry. The gelding's powerful late sprint saw the duo find the post in the nick of time, capping off a good year for the stable and connections.
Autumn was a strong season for our stakes contenders, in particular WHITE MOSS. The crowd favourite picked up dual Group Two wins during the autumn in the Millie Fox and the Sapphire Stakes, further building her page after a previous win in the Group Three Nivison in 2017. SIREN'S FURY also added to her group tally, picking up a second Group 3 victory in the Star Kingdom Stakes, beating several Group One credentialed competitors in the process.
Meanwhile, SALSONIC posted strong performances in good company, running third in the Group Three Liverpool City Cup during the early Sydney carnival and fourth in the Group Three Lord Mayor's Cup in Brisbane.
The performances at metropolitan level were significant with several horses in the barn breaking through for strong city wins. RIVER BIRD delivered on early promise in her three year old season, picking up four wins in her most recent preparation with three at Rosehill. She was in good company - fellow runner for Mr Rapisarda YOU MAKE ME SMILE also winning three on the trot in the city earlier in the season, and picking up a fourth at his first attempt in group company.
Continuing with our city stars, SPIRITUAL PURSUIT broke through for three wins this season, with two in city company. A trip to Brisbane saw INSENSATA earn her sixth win. COVERT OPERATION debuted in style to win his maiden on the Kensington track, while his stablemate VALENTINO ROSSA broke through at metropolitan level at Warwick Farm for his fourth win. Meanwhile fellow stablemates FABRICATOR, LADY ELIZABETH, NO INTEREST and WEEKEND AFFAIR all picked up victories in Sydney.
We thank our team, various partners and importantly connections for their support this season and look forward to racing together in 2019-2020.
