River Bird wins NSW BOBS Horse of the Year
After an exceptional season which saw her move from maiden status to a four time winner of almost $350,000, RIVER BIRD was last night awarded NSW BOBS Horse of the Year. It was a gratifying season for the mare who delivered on the early promise shown after placing at Group Three level as a two year old. Knocking over her maiden at Wyong in the first start of her preparation, RIVER BIRD went on to achieve another three wins at metropolitan level taking a shining for the Rosehill Gardens course.
We congratulate owner and breeder Mr. Rapisarda on the accolade, and look forward to seeing what the mare has in store for her four year old season.
RIVER BIRD is the second stable runner to pick up the gong in the last three years, with talented mare MEMES gaining the title in 2017. The then three year old filly was justly awarded after a phenomenal autumn/winter blitz that saw her pick up five wins with three at Royal Randwick.
