Southern Belles Salute

The trips down south have proven sweet for a pair of the stable's mares in the last week, picking up wins at Kembla Grange and Nowra. CITIZEN'S ARREST started her preparation on a strong note in the Hotondo South Coast BM 58 Hcp. Jumping well from the gates, the five year old mare took a positive position just behind the leaders. Entering the straight, she gave a good kick when asked by jockey Kathy O'Hara in the final 200m to win by 0.3 lengths, notching up her third win at the track.

Meanwhile, it was a sweet day for the ever-consistent CAPPAMORE who broke through for her maiden win at Kembla Grange over the 1600m. The mare by TEOFILO had attracted bridesmaid status with a string of runner-up efforts, so it was good to see the mare dig in and stick her head out when it counted beating filly DUCHESS OF WINDSOR by a neck. It was a strong ride from apprentice Sam Weatherley, and we hope the mare takes some confidence from this win and can progress for connections moving forward.
